How I came across the Tarot
I must confess that the Tarot was something I found curious but that had never caught my attention. Honestly, it seemed absurd to me that something like that could work because, after all, I faithfully believe that NOTHING of our future is written. For this reason, seeing the Tarot as a tool to fortune telling, I couldn’t help but to be sceptical and consider it a mere parlour game.
However, I write and therefore I like to document myself well and personally on what I am going to write about.
Well, for a story that I am working on I needed to learn Tarot (I intend to hang myself upside down from the ceiling to see if it is possible to let go of oneself and I would not study those curious cards).
After reading about it, it really interested me, because the Tarot is not what it seems. It is not a tool to foretell the future, but an open door to our subconscious mind because with its images and symbolisms it makes us reach at thoughts and knowledge we didn’t know we had but that already resided within us. It could be said that it is something like an assistant to carry out the Socratic method.
What is the Tarot
The tarot is a deck of 78 cards, each one with its own image, symbolism and history.
The 22 Major Arcanarepresent the karmic and spiritual lessons of life. They represent a spiritual path of self-knowledge and the various states in which we find ourselves while searching for meanings and understandings. In this way, the Major Arcana contain profoundly important lessons at the soul level.
The 56 Minor Arcanareflect the trials and tribulations we experience daily. These cards highlight the most practical aspects of life and can refer to current problems that have a temporary or minor influence. Within the Minor Arcana there are 16 Court Cards, each one representing different characteristics of the personality that we can adopt at any time. There are also 40 numbered cards organized in 4 suits (Cups, Pentacles, Swords and Wands). The ten cards of each suit represent several situations that we can find day by day.
The Tarot is the book of our life, the mirror of our soul and the key to our inner wisdom.
Every spiritual lesson that we encounter in our lives can be found in the 78 Tarot cards. By consulting the Tarot we will find the exact lessons we need to learn and to live an inspired life. It is like looking in a mirror that allows us to access our subconscious and reach the wisdom and the answers that live within us.
All these been said I must admit that I still have much to learn before I can write a story about it so I thank beforehand the help of those who already Know Tarot; and for those who are new, I invite you to start this journey with me.
