I know I won’t be the only one around here who is eager to travel, who is passionate about discovering new places and getting lost in unknown and recondite landscapes, in short, I know that I am not the only victim of “wanderlust”. And for this very reason I know that many times we put our focus on distant and exotic places and we completely ignore everything that is near us.
And I’m the first one who is like that, I have a long list of places I want to travel to, and none of them is so close that I dare to make the trip by car. Anyway, I have the intention of discovering and visiting more places in Valencia and last weekend I was in l’Albufera.
Don’t get me wrong, of course I already knew l’Albufera! But I was presented with the opportunity to take a boat trip through the lake and, although it may seem strange, I said yes.
We embarked at sunset, the sun was still strong enough to be annoying but not so intense as to burn the photos. In short, it was hot but the photos were perfect and, best of all, I was not stung by a single mosquito.
I got a little dizzy at first, but when the boat accelerated the horrible swing stopped completely it didn’t take me long to get over it. In addition, the fresh and pure air took away everything that could have been left of that initial dizziness.
The experience was great and time flew by even when the boatman gave us a ride 20 minutes longer than agreed, no doubt 40 minutes would have been too little time.
