5 classics written by women

5 classics written by women

Today is March 8, International Women’s Day, and I wanted to contribute and celebrate it in my own way. For this I have decided to film a video in which I recommend 5 great classics written by women!

  1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  2. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
  3. We have always lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
  4. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
  5. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf

I wanted to ask you to look at the book you are reading, the books you have read recently and the ones you want to read soon and tell me how many of them are written by women. I know that some of you read female authors regularly, but also that most mainly read male authors …

It is time to start changing that! That they are not given the same visibility doesn’t mean that the works of female authors are not as good.

I would love to hear your recommendations in the comments! Both classic and contemporary female authors so that I can add them to my TBR.
